January 10, 2014

Nine Sweetwater football players have received Class 3A All-Big Country recognition by the Abilene Reporter-News.
Two players, junior wide receiver Bray Amos and senior defensive lineman Daven Alvarez, made the first team and two others, Kaleb Hoover and Andrew Davis, are on the second team. Hoover, a senior, was named at wide receiver and defensive back and Davis, also a senior, was chosen on the offensive line.
Five Sweetwater players were given honorable mention to the team, which actually consisted of players in 3A through 5A — junior Isaiah McGee at both wide receiver and defensive back, senior Marquees Jenkins at running back and linebacker, junior Kaegan Jeffrey at quarterback, junior Ty Crain on the offensive line and senior Dylan Bennett at defensive back.
All nine players had previously received either first or second team all-district recognition and Hoover, Amos and McGee received Class 3A all-state honorable mention from the Associa-ted Press Sports Editors. McGee, Jeffrey, Hoover and Amos were All-Big Country selections a year ago.
