Nolan County Junior Livestock Show coming up

January 10, 2014

Each year approximately 200 FFA and 4-H youth participate in the Nolan County Junior Livestock Show. Students in Blackwell FFA, Highland FFA, Roscoe FFA, Sweetwater FFA and Nolan County 4-H Clubs participate in the Nolan County Livestock Show. "These exhibitors invest countless hours in their projects - steers, hogs, lambs, goats, chickens and rabbits - with hopes of earning the Grand Champion prize during the 2014 show," said Nolan County Livestock Association President James L. Sanderson.
This year the livestock show will be held Jan. 14-18, 2014 at the Nolan County Coliseum. The winning exhibitors will be eligible to sell their projects in the Premium Sale, held on Jan. 18, 2014.
"These livestock projects are a resource to teach students important life lessons such as responsibility, leadership, communication, hard work and dedication. It is the generous donations from those in our community and local businesses that make the Nolan County Premium Sale possible," said Sanderson.
Sanderson says that about 3/4 of exhibitors participate in the premium sale. "Our hope is that you will show your support for these hard-working participants through your financial giving. Your donation will help offset the expenses of daily livestock care and upkeep, and also allow our young people to begin a savings for their future endeavors."
Several sponsorships are available for those wishing to donate.
