SWEETWATER – Tasha Baxter was named the new Texas AgriLife Extension Service agent for family and consumer sciences in Nolan County. Her appointment was effective Sept. 19.
The announcement was made by Nolan County Judge Tim Fambrough and Scott Durham, AgriLife Extension administrator for the West Central District.
The new agent will be headquartered in the AgriLife Extension offices at 100 East 3rd Street, Suite 305 in Sweetwater.
“We are very pleased that Tasha has accepted the Nolan County position,” Durham said. “She is well-versed in Extension work and has a good working knowledge of the area and its demographics. I think she will make a positive and lasting impact within this key county.”
Baxter holds a bachelor’s degree in human science with an emphasis in child and family studies from Tarleton State University in Stephenville. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in family and consumer science education from Texas Tech University at Lubbock.
Baxter was previously an AgriLife Extension agent for family and consumer sciences in Ochiltree County where her job responsibilities included the Better Living for Texans program, Car Seat Safety Certification, Foods and Nutrition Project and Walk Across Texas. She also has experience in teaching pre-kindergarten children basic learning skills and in commission sales.
