Pictured are fifth grade students from Blackwell, Highland, and Roscoe.

Once again the Nolan County Soil and Water Conservation District has made a donation to the Kids On the Land (KOL) program and fully supports the mission of KOL and the concept of bringing agricultural education to life while out on the land. Mandi Ligon, District Conservationist in the Sweetwater office, has also provided support and leadership for the program at the 69 Ranch.
Katherine Dickson and her family have hosted the Kids On the Land program at their 69 Ranch near Maryneal for students from Roscoe, Highland and Blackwell for the last two years. The program provides a day of hands-on activities to help students reconnect to the land where they live. The students will be on the 69 Ranch on September 17th and 18th. Peggy Maddox, former SISD SEEK teacher and now Executive Director of Kids On the Land, Inc., a Texas 501c3 non-profit, conducts KOL programs for elementary students across Texas.
