Funeral services for Norma Lou Lindemann, 80, of Abilene, formerly of Sweetwater, will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013 at McCoy Chapel of Memories. Rev. Chris Stephens will officiate with interment to follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, at McCoy Funeral Home.
Lindemann died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.
She was born Oct. 18, 1933 in Santa Anna, Texas. She married H.H. "Lindy" Lindemann on Jan. 26, 1952, in Brownwood. Norma was a member of First Baptist Church of Abilene and a former member of Trinity Baptist Church in Sweetwater. She moved to Sweetwater in 1963 and lived most of her remaining years, except a few, in Abilene. She was a member of Mamie D. Crane #1018 Order of the Eastern Star and was Past Worthy Matron. She was a member of Big Country Good Sam (Travel Club). Norma worked for 18 years and retired from Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital as Medical Records Supervisor.
Survivors include her husband, H.H. "Lindy" Lindemann of Abilene; daughters, Sheri Kendrick and husband Ken of Sweetwater and Kathy Bowen and husband Johnny of Sweetwater; son, H.H. "Trey" Lindemann III and wife Cathy of Palestine, TX; brothers, Jack Christy and wife Dorothy of New Braunfels, TX and Dean Christy and wife Kari of Voca, TX; sisters, Nelda Wyatt of Houston and Janice Burt and husband Robert of Lake Brownwood; grandchildren, Christy Bowen and Casey Bradley, Wendy Kurten and husband Shawn, Misty Heiskell, H.H. "Lindy" Lindemann IV and wife Carey, Levi Bowen and wife Ashley, Melissa Tellez and husband Octavio and Jarod Bowen and wife Abigail; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Normie Sam and Lucille (Curry) Christy; and granddaughter, Regina Renee Kendrick.
Pallbearers are H.H. "Lindy" Lindemann IV, Jarod Bowen, Shawn Kurten, Levi Bowen, Octavio Tellez, and Casey Bradley.
Honorary pallbearers are John Meadows, Robert Stevens and Jack Kennedy.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Waco Scottish Rite (Camp Success), P.O. Box 3080, Waco, TX 76707.
