Norman D. Jurgens, 49, Topeka, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2011.
He was born Aug. 18, 1961 in Minden, NE the son of Donald and Gladys (Thurnau) Jurgens.
Norman married his beloved Sonya Langley on Sept. 6, 1980 in Hildreth, NE. He was an enthusiastic Nebraska Cornhuskers football fan. He also loved hunting, fishing, being outdoors and barbecuing.
Most of his life he spent farming in Nebraska but more recently worked for Heartland Crop Insurance.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Sonya; sons, Jordan M. Jurgens of St. Louis, Justin A. Jurgens of Topeka; daughters, Jenna M. Jurgens of Topeka and Jessa A. Jurgens of Topeka; mother, Gladys Jurgens of Wilcox, NE; brothers, Gary Jurgens of Belvue, NE, Rodney Jurgens of Wilcox, NE, Kendall Jurgens of Wilcox, NE, Neil Jurgens of Minden, NE; brothers-in-law and family, James Langley of Stewartsville, MO, David Langley of Meridan, CT, Mary Langley of St. Louis, MO; many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Jurgens.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church, 1234 SW Fairlawn, Topeka. Burial will follow at Stewartsville Cemetery, Stewartsville, MO.
