Oleta Worsham, age 85, of Abilene, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at Sweetwater Cemetery with Rev. James Baker officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Oleta was born on Jan. 13, 1928 in Rochester, Texas to Albert Sylvester and Gracie Mae (Brooks) Hammons. She worked for Langford Sewing Factory in Sweetwater and then in Abilene for many years before retiring. She also worked for Simmons Hospital. She married A.T. Worsham on Sept. 3, 1956 in Sweetwater. She was a Baptist.
She is survived by her husband, A.T. Worsham; son, Tony Worsham; two daughters, Kay Ryan and Alma Cross, all of Abilene; three grandchildren, Paul Cross, James Ryan and David Ryan; four great-grandchildren, Caleb Cross, Alexander Ryan, Brandon Ryan and Kaylee Ryan; and one sister, Rosie Baxter and husband Dewey of Sweetwater.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Gracie Hammons; and three sisters, Margaret, Clara and Yvonne.
