Omogene “Jean” Whitworth

Funeral services for Omogene “Jean” Whitworth, 91, of Busby, TX will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 9, 2014 at McCoy Chapel of Memories. Rev. Matt McGowen will officiate and interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Whitworth died Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Nolan Nursing and Rehab.
She was born April 10, 1923, in Polar (Scurry County), TX. She married Howard Whitworth on Dec. 7, 1940, in Sweetwater.
She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Sweetwater. She was a homemaker and lived in Sweetwater (Nolan and Fisher counties) most of her life.
Survivors include her daughters, Nancy Whitworth of Busby and Betty Ross and husband Jim of Irving; grandchildren, Corkey Ammons and wife Laura of Sweetwater, Garry Ammons and wife Natalie of Irving, Terry Ammons and wife Dena of Lewisville, Kristi Holland and husband Blueford of Blackwell, Lolly Roland and husband Larry of Blackwell, Trudi Whitworth of Santa Rosa, CA, Sabrina Whitworth of Clyde and Brooks Taylor and wife Julie of Busby; 15 great-grandchildren- one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard in 2009; son, John Whitworth in 2013; great-grandson, Jeffrey Wood in 2011; seven sisters; and five brothers.
Pallbearers will be B.D. Rainey, Rock Rainey, Ronnie Sheffield, Allen Byers, Terry Scherwitz and Brandon Scherwitz.
