District court hears one guilty plea

One person pled guilty to Judge Glen Harrison during 32nd Judicial District Court proceedings on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012.
Augustine Torres, with attorney John S. Young, pled guilty to engaging in organized criminal activity, a state jail felony. The offense occurred on July 30, 2011. The indictment states that Torres broke into or entered a vehicle without the consent of the owner, with the intent to commit theft.
For his plea, Torres received two years confinement in the State Jail Division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, probated for two years. He will also have to pay a $1,000 fine, $309 in court costs and $500 in attorney's fees. He will also have to serve 120 hours of community service.
