Sweetwater — Patsy D. Bockman, 75, died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012, in a local nursing center.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 26, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Merkel with Reverend Don Greenway officiating, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Patsy was born July 8, 1936 in Snyder to Jim and Dorothy (Bertram) Gibson. She married Wendell Jacob Bockman who preceded her in death Oct. 12, 1985. Patsy was a member of North Side Baptist Church in Abilene. She was an avid reader and enjoyed flea markets, arts and crafts and cooking. She loved her family and friends.
Survivors include her son, Brock Carter and wife Marie of Sweetwater; step son, Wendell Bockman, Jr. of Bonham; step daughter, Ann Speck of Alto, N.M.; sister, Sue Clark of Crosby; three grandsons, Chad Carter and Adam Carter and wife Amanda all of Abilene, Jacob Carter of Sweetwater; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband.
