Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital recently announced the promotion of Cody Joe Paty to Director of Physical Therapy. Wes Bishop, director of physical therapy for over 35 years, has announced that he will step down from this position but will continue to provide professional therapy services at RPMH. Bishop wisely offered Paty a position in the PT department 11 years ago. Paty, a 1994 graduate of Sweetwater High School, graduated from Abilene Christian University in 1998 and PT School at Hardin Simmons University in 2001. During his college years, he worked summers in the RPMH PT department. During his tenure as a staff therapist, Bishop began grooming him to one day take over the responsibilities of director. "We are extremely fortunate to have someone of Cody's caliber to take over the reigns from Wes and grateful for Wes' foresight to work strategically for the future of the PT department and the hospital," stated Donna Boatright, RPMH Administrator. "We are also very happy that Wes will continue to be a big part of the great work the department provides patients in Nolan and surrounding counties. The reputation of excellence that has been developed over the years is a reflection of the competence and dedication of Wes and the entire staff," Boatright continued.
Cody Paty is married to Ginger Thompson Paty of Abilene and has three children, Claire, Gregory and Meredith. He is the son of Joe and Rosemary Paty, longtime educators with Sweetwater Independent School District. Paty has been very active in many community and civic events and has just recently received certification in a specialized Parkinson's and Parikinson's-like disease therapy program.
