Paula MuÃ±oz, 92, left this earth for her Heavenly Home on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013 in Sweetwater surrounded by her family.
Holy Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 7, 2013 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Father Charles Okonkwo will officiate. Interment will follow at the Loraine Cemetery directed by McCoy Funeral Home.
A Rosary was said at McCoy Chapel of Memories on Sunday evening, Oct. 6, at 7 p.m.
She was born Jan. 25, 1921 in Eskota, TX and moved to Loraine shortly there after. She was a member of the Catholic Church in Loraine and lived there over 88 years. She married Pablo MuÃ±oz on Nov. 17, 1946 in Loraine, TX. He preceded her in death Jan. 25, 1995. To this union were nine children of which two are deceased.
Left behind to cherish her memories are daughters, Frances MuÃ±oz Sahagun of Carlsbad, CA, Mary Thomas of Plano, TX, Delia Alvarez and husband Sammy of Sweetwater, Yolanda Garcia and husband Robert Sr. of Sweetwater, Eva Hammonds and husband Gus of Grand Prairie, TX; sons, Joe MuÃ±oz and wife Audrey of Colorado City and David MuÃ±oz of Sweetwater; her brothers, Antonio DeLoera, Rodrigo DeLoera, Felipe Deloera, Tomas DeLoera of Roscoe and Victor DeLoera of Loraine; her sisters, Josefa Castro of Roscoe and Aurora MuÃ±oz of Loraine. She also has 28 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and one on the way.
Her pallbearers will be her grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her children, Pablo MuÃ±oz, Jr. and Erlinda MuÃ±oz Suniga; a granddaughter Stephanie Thomas; and sons-in-law, Gary Thomas and Miguel Sahagun.
â€˜Nanaâ€™ came from a family of 16 children and was the Matriarch of the DeLoera Family out living eight siblings.
She also worked at the Senior Citizens Center in Loraine for 23 years.
