Photography retreat slated for Jan. 26-28 in Snyder

January 21, 2012

The "Top Secret in Texas" Photography Retreat will be held Jan. 26-28, 2012 at the WindMill Ranch Preserve in Snyder, located on 9180 West Highway 180.
The retreat will be led by Lara Blair, founder of Lara Blair Images and Modern Prairie Girl Studio. She describes herself as "a professional photographer...and a teacher of fellow photographers who desire to make original portrait art that stands out from the crowd."
This retreat is meant for anyone with a love of photography. "You do not have to be a pro or want to own a studio to come...if you just own an SLR digital camera and want to learn to take better pictures, this retreat is for you, too!"
The workshop covers a variety of information from the technical, dreamy and business aspect. Technically, participants will learn about their camera (f/stop and shutter relationship), lighting, posing, and studio lighting with strobes.
From the business perspective, attendees will learn how to set themselves apart from other portrait studios, marketing, packaging and top secrets from someone who has a successful business.
Additionally, the workshop will teach students how to create magical styled images that will knock people's socks off.
Prices for the workshop — which can also include an overnight room and meals for three days — vary. For more information or to register for the photography retreat, visit www.moderngirlprairie.com.
