Plowgirls start district

Roscoe Plowgirls start district play tonight

Area basketball action resumes today as Roscoe’s girls will tip off district play and four other Nolan Coun-ty teams are also in action.
The Plowgirls take a 10-9 mark into their District 9-A, Division I opener as they host Munday. The Roscoe boys have an open date before starting district play on Tuesday.
In District 11-A, Division II, Highland’s teams will go to Trent today after beating Loraine on Tuesday. The girls (3-1) won 63-45 and the boys (1-1) won their game 34-31 in overtime.
Finally, Blackwell’s teams have District 12-A, Division II games at Garden City. The boys are off to an 0-2 start and the girls are 1-3 after losing a district doubleheader this past Tuesday to Paint Rock. The Blackwell boys fell 48-23 with Mason Magness scoring a team-high eight points, while the girls lost 49-27 in their con-test. But Blackwell’s JV boys did win, 27-22, as Andrew Fields and Bennie Wester had seven points and Har-rison Scott six.
