February 11, 2013

It’s playoff season.
Nolan County is being represented by three girls basketball teams this year, and Roscoe will get things started today.
The Plowgirls (18-11) face Sterling City (16-11) in a Class 1A, Division II bi-district playoff at 6:30 p.m. at Winters.
Roscoe is one of two Nolan County teams — Highland being the other — to advance from District 13-A, Division II.
The Plowgirls finished 7-3 in district, second to Highland’s 10-0. They face a Sterling City team that placed third in District 14-A, Division II. The win-ner of today’s game will play Priddy in the area playoffs later this week.
Roscoe has six seniors — Faith Boren, Carolina Perez, Mirian Solis, Ken-dall Moses, Stina Tomlin and Torrey Willman — and three juniors — Eva Aguayo, Shelby Brown and Whitney Williams — on its squad. Boren is scoring at a 15-point clip to lead the team, while Perez averag-es 8 rebounds and Aguayo 6 steals per contest.
