Michael Briggs'painting "A Matter of Right-A-Way" (Photo by Melissa Winslow)

Michael Briggs has donated a painting to the Pioneer City-County Museum titled A Matter of Right-A-Way. The painting is dedicated to the ranching and railroad community of Nolan County. Briggs' family were of the founding members of ranchers in Nolan County. Three generations have remained in the railroad industry: his father, himself and one of his sons, all of which were train conductors. Michael's son, Robert E. Lee Briggs, is still working as a conductor for the BNSF railroad at Sweetwater. Father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather were all in the ranching business.
