Rattlesnake Round-Up attracts many

Every year the Sweetwater Jaycees World’s Largest Rattlesnake Round-Up brings in people from all over the world. Area hotels are almost always full during the second weekend in March and restaurants are always full, contributing greatly to Sweetwater’s economy.

Every year the Sweet-water Jaycees World’s Largest Rattlesnake Round-Up brings hundreds of thousands of visitors to the Sweetwater area from all over the globe. This surge of tourism brings with it lots of revenue for the city.
Area hotels are almost always full during the second week in March and restaurants are packed around the clock.
Since 1958, the world's largest rattlesnake round-up has been held in Sweetwater.
The round-up was originally started by a group of farmers and ranchers who were getting tired of the abundance of the deadly snakes. Since then, the roundup has gathered more than 300,000 pounds of snakes.
The round-up usually averages about 30,000 visitors a year from all over the United States, Canada, South America, Europe and Asia.
