Reappointments approved at city meeting

December 12, 2013

During Tuesday's City Commission meeting, reappointments were approved for continued service on some civic boards.
Elsie Pierce and Carol Cain will begin new terms as city appointees to the County-City Library board, which will expire on December 31, 2016. Both individuals were cited as dedicated members.
For the Pioneer Museum board, Kent Boatright will resume his service as the city appointee, while Jo Henderson will serve as the joint city-county employee. Both members are active--as Boatright has served as board chairman, with their new terms expiring at the end of the 2015 calendar year.
Also during the meeting, approval was given to authorize City Manager Eddie Brown to cast a ballot to vote for Ben High as the city's nominee to the board of directors of the Nolan County Central Appraisal District (CAD).
While the city is able to cast 308 out of 5,000 votes--which are determined according to the tax rolls, the city manager is able to vote as well. High has been on the board for some time and has once again agreed to serve.
