RELIGION: Check out the 2012 Co-Ed Sweetwater Church Softball League
BROADWAY BAPTIST CHURCHAmericans are a people of spectators. We sit and watch ball games, television programs and movies. This mind set has slipped into our churches where we hire pastors and staff and then show up on Sunday morning, sit with arms folded, and say, “Okay, show me what you got!” It’s like the family that visited the church and then at home the dad said, “The preacher was too boring.” The mom said, “The music was too loud.” The teenager said, “The youth were snobs,” but the little boy said, “I thought it was a pretty good show for a quarter.” Church must be more than a show, and church members must be more than spectators. This week, when you go to church, go with a mindset of love and worship. Participate in the music and message, and remember you only get out what you put in. Let’s be more than hearers of the Word. Let’s be doers of His will. The Children’s Wednesday night Bible Study Program: “WISEGUYS” is beginning Sept. 5.
