State Representative Susan King hosted a town hall meeting at Texas State Technical College in Sweetwater on Tuesday afternoon. King briefly went over the latest legislative session in Austin and touched on subjects concerning education, TxDOT, water, second amendment rights and the upcoming constitutional amendments (Proposition 6) that will be brought to voters in November. Attendees of the meeting asked questions about CSCOPE and possible funding for an outpatient dialysis center in Sweetwater. Community members thanked King for her continued efforts in helping rural communities, especially in the education and healthcare fields. King also mentioned interim studies — a time between regular legislative sessions that will be used for study and research of important topics. She encouraged the public to bring their input and concerns on different topics to her at any time.
