Richard Armstrong

Richard Armstrong, 77, of Dublin, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born Jan. 28, 1936, in Snyder, Texas, to Robert Lee Armstrong and Susan Elizabeth Mimms Armstrong. Richard married Carolyn Watson July 10, 1955, in Sweetwater, Texas.
Richard retired from Texas Electric as a General Manager after 35 years of service. He and Carolyn were members of First Christian Church of Granbury. They had lived in Dublin for over 10 years. Richard loved to work. He enjoyed each single day of his career. He also enjoyed ranching and raising cattle. His greatest loves in life were his family and his friends.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carolyn Armstrong; daughters, Donna Russell and husband, Casey, Lisa Hare and husband, Toby and Kelly Rowell and husband, Ben; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and other extended family.
A memorial service honoring Richard’s life was held Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, at First Christian Church of De Leon. Pastor Dan Burlison officiated the service.
