Roger Rudel

Roger Rudel was born on March 22, 1941. He was the third son of Joseph and Edith Rudel, but was the first of their four sons to be born in the United States. He grew up in New York City among a vibrant community of émigrés and fellow-countrymen from the French island of Martinique in the Caribbean Sea. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Gloria (Curry) Rudel, sons David and Roger Jr. (wife Kristy McGee Rudel), daughters Nicole and Delise (husband Matthew Munroe) and stepchildren, Garriett and Angela Curry. He was blessed with six granddaughters - Ravenn, Neysa, Tressa, Briana, Morgan and Kaylynn and 4 step-grandchildren - Isaiah, Jordan, Kiante and Trinity McGee. He leaves behind two brothers, René Michael Rudel (wife Linda) of Hamden, CT and Theophile Rudel of Fort de France, Martinique. He was predeceased by his eldest brother, Denis Rudel, who passed away in May 2010. He also leaves behind beloved nieces and nephews in CT, MA, MS, TX, Australia, France, and French Guyana.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00pm on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at McCoy Funeral Home, 401 East Third Street, Sweetwater, TX 79556.
