A Holy Mass of Christian Burial for Ronald Frank Acosta, 53, of Sweetwater, will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Father Michael Udegbunam officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
A rosary was recited Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011, at 7 p.m. at McCoy Chapel of Memories by Connie Palacios and Alice Velez.
Acosta died Monday, Sept. 26, 2011, at his home in Sweetwater.
He was born Sept. 3, 1958, in Stamford, Texas. He married Lupe Reyes on Aug. 8, 1998, in Rotan, Texas.
Ron was a graduate of Stamford High School in 1976. He worked for C.R. Anthony Store at age 17, he then became a lineman for Stamford Electric Co-op and then a clerk for Big Country Electric Co-op. He moved to Sweetwater 12 years ago from Stamford and was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Stamford Kiwanis Club and the Roby Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife, Lupe Acosta of Sweetwater; daughters, Kimberly Neal and husband Richard of Kyle, TX, Amanda Dunlap and husband Buddy of Beeville, TX, Ashley Figueroa and husband Adolfo III of Bosier City, Louisiana; mother and step father, Lilly and Julian Moreno of Stamford, TX; brothers, Mark Acosta of Stamford, TX, Frank Acosta of Stamford, TX, David Moreno of Abilene, TX, Orlando Moreno of Wichita Falls, TX, Nick Acosta of Stamford, TX and Mario Moreno of Mason, TX; sisters, Debbie Gonzales of Stamford, TX and Melissa Barron of Abilene, TX.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Acosta in 1965 and a brother, David Roy Moreno in 1970.
Pallbearers will be Jaime Adames, Victor Morales, Jack Carter, Richard Dominguez, Eddie Barron and Mike McLellen.
