A historical plaque at Memorial Park in Roscoe commemorating the Bankhead Highway was dedicated on Tuesday morning, August 21.
Broadway Street — before being used as part of US Highway 80 and Interstate 20, was part of the Bankhead Highway, an early route that stretched from Washington, DC to San Diego, California.
Attending the presentation was (from left to right) Joe Specht, the Librarian Emeritus of McMurry University; Helen Perry and Robert McBride, Roscoe City Council members; Pete Porter, mayor of the City of Roscoe; Edwin Duncan, curator of the Roscoe Museum; Terry Willman, Nolan County Commissioner and Delma Boston, downtown Roscoe merchant.
