Roscoe city election nears

May 11, 2011

Virg Pruitt is one of five on the ballot for Place 3 within the Roscoe City Council.

One candidate in the race for Roscoe City Council Place 3 not only wants your vote on May 14, but wants you to know more about himself.
Virg Pruitt is one of five on the ballot for Place 3 within the Roscoe City Council. "I have lived in Roscoe my entire life," he said. "Graduated here, live here and I am raising a family here."
Pruitt currently serves as the Assistant Fire Chief for the Roscoe Volunteer Fire Department and has worked for the city of Roscoe in the past. Because of his former and current positions, Pruitt says that he is very familiar with the town and its citizens.
"I want to continue helping our town by working in the city council," added Pruitt. "It is time for a change and I am that change."
Other candidates for Place 3 of the Roscoe City Council include Juanita G. Garcia, Christi Pepper Beal, Don Graham and Billy B. Guelker. Running for Place 2 on the Roscoe City Council is Helen Perry, who is running unopposed.
However, the position of mayor in Roscoe is also up for grabs with two candidates on the ballot. The candidates are Ken Brawley and Frank "Pete" Porter.
The Roscoe city election will take place on Saturday, May 14 at the Roscoe School Cafetorium, located at 1201 W. 7th in Roscoe. The polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m for citizens to elect the Mayor and two Councilmen seats.
