September 30, 2013

Roscoe’s junior varsi-ty routed Cross Plains’ JV, 38-0, on Thursday.
After a scoreless first quarter, Roscoe (3-1) took a 16-0 lead into the half on two TD passes by Brayden Beal. Beal threw a 2-yard strike to Isaiah Gonzales for the first score and a 17-yard pass to Braiden Moore for the second, and Juan Sanchez ran over a pair of 2-point conversions.
Sanchez had a 13-yard scoring run and caught a pass from Beal to make it 24-0, and Beal’s 38-yard TD return after recovering a punt was blocked by A.J. Renteria — plus Johnathon Cuellar’s 2-point conversion run — made it 32-0. Cuellar had a 48-yard TD run in the fourth period.
“I’m really pleased with how the guys played,” said coach Jor-dan Morales. “It was our most complete game thus far. We just need to continue to work hard and improve.”
