October 9, 2012

The Texas Midwest Community Network will be hosting the 19th Annual Texas Midwest Conference, Oct. 17, at the Abilene Civic Center; Roscoe and Sweetwater are members of the organization.

Nolan County cities Roscoe and Sweetwater are members of Texas Midwest Community Network. The organization hosts the 19th Annual Texas Midwest Conference, Oct. 17, at the Abilene Civic Center. The conference will offer solutions for challenges communities face today and in the future.
TMCN is the only regional organization of its kind in the state. The annual conference is the only event in the region to provide access in one day to numerous agencies, organizations and businesses that provide resources and services to rural communities. The most valuable aspect of the conference is the networking among community representatives as they share successes as well as insights to challenges they have overcome.
Attendance at the conference is open to all concerned citizens in the region. Most communities are represented by city and county officials, economic development professionals and board members, chamber of commerce executives and members, civic volunteers, healthcare professionals, school officials and student leaders who attend to learn more about the resources and services available to benefit communities.
Participants in the Information Expo include: Big Country Area Health Education Center, Choice Partners Cooperative, Cisco College, Digital Impact Outdoors, Gayla Fullerton CPA, Hibbs & Todd Engineers, Hendrick Health System, Howard College, Jacob & Martin Engineers, On Target Promotions, Merritt, McLain & Hamby, Terracon Consultants, Texas Center for Rural Entrepreneurship, TCEQ, TDA, TXDOT, Texas Engineering Extension Service, Texas Forts Trail, Texas Tech SBDC, TSTC West Texas, WCT Council of Governments, West Texas Innovation Network, Workforce Solutions of WCT and Abilene Regional Airport.
