How about a plane ride in a World War II bi-plane or a cruise to a destination of your choice? Those are just two of the items up for bid at the REHAB Shrimp Peel and Auction Tuesday night, Oct. 30, 2012, at the Sweetwater Country Club. The dinner and auction begins at 6 p.m. and is the first of two Round-Up for Rehab events this week to benefit the West Texas Rehabilitation Center. The second event is at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31, and is the regular Round-Up for Rehab at Sweetwater Cattle Auction. A free chuck wagon lunch will be served beginning at 11:30 a.m.
Heading up the Sweetwater Round-Up events is the chair, Jan Smith. On the Round-Up committee this year are Homer and Beth Taylor, Riley Ann Price, Stephen Smith II, Tom and Becky Rees, Leah Andrews, Meghan Cantu, Brenda Stevens, Bruce Sanderson, Dalton and Gretchen Maddox, Leah Andrews and Tom Henderson.
The Shrimp Peel will begin at 6 p.m. on Oct. 30, and cost will be $20 per person and tickets are available at the Sweetwater Chamber of Commerce. Sponsorships and tickets are also are available are available from the committee.
The regular Round-Up for Rehab Sale will be the following day at 12:30 p.m. with the REHAB chuck wagon serving up free beans, cornbread and tea beginning at 11:30 a.m.
Both events will feature live auctions and items for each are being accepted by the committee. If you have cattle or livestock you would like to donate and have hauled to the auction you can contact (325)793-3508.
