Roxie Ann Carson Trietsch
Roxie Ann Carson Trietsch, 93, formerly of California and Sanger, Texas, (retired) departed this life on July 13, 2014. “Annie” or “Grannie Annie” as she was known to those who loved her, born Oct. 4, 1920, was one of 12 children born to John and Edna Carson on Indian Territory in Pottawatomie Co., Oklahoma. Annie is survived by only one sibling, Francis Retzlaff and husband, Hal Retzlaff (Ret. Master Gunnery Sgt. USMC) of San Jacinto, California. In 1941 Annie married Arthur W. McCaffrey in California and had two children who survive her, Arthur McCaffrey and his wife, Sammie, of Bowie, Texas, and Jo Ann Duda and her late husband, Gary Joseph Duda of California. Numerous grandchildren, including Ricky Wayne McCaffrey and wife, LeeAnn of Gainesville, Ronnie Lee McCaffrey of Ft. Worth, Samantha McCaffrey of Reno, NV, and Crystal Nikkel of Bakersfield, CA, Rhonda Grace McCoy and husband, TSgt Brian McCoy USA (Ret.) of Tucson, Arizona, Cari Duda of Sweetwater, Texas, and Joseph John Duda, of Bakersfield, California, who predeceased her in 2013, and Joseph’s two sons, Justin and Toren both of Bakersfield, CA. Numerous great-grandchildren including Chase Berecin of North Little Rock, AR, Jocelyn Smith (Jones) and family, Jamie Rose Cole (Jones) and family, originally of Merkel, Texas, and now living in Stephenville, Texas, Ethan Mosley and family of Little Rock, AR, Allison Mosley of Little Rock, AR, Britt Mitchell of Roscoe, Texas and Shelbi (Duda) Williams and husband, Stewart, of Roscoe, Texas, as well as many great-great grandchildren including Abbey Beth Williams, Zoey Ann Williams, and Sadie Grace Williams of Roscoe. Annie married Herman Trietsch in 1962 in California where they started Herman’s Gradall Rental, a family business that was later to become Duda’s Gradall Rental. Herman and Annie retired to Sanger, Texas to live on his ranch and much of the family followed to remain close to them (Herman later passed away in Denton, Texas in 1998). She will be missed by all whose lives she touched. A Celebration of Life Memorial in Denton, Texas, is being planned for a later date to allow family and friends to make travel arrangements.
