RPMH offers free cholesterol screening

February is American Heart Month, to observe this occasion Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital will be at the Sweetwater-Nolan County Health Department (SNCHD), located at 301 E. 12th, on Thursday, Feb. 27, from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. to offer free cholesterol screening. There will be pamphlets and information available on cholesterol.  
The health department will be closed on Monday, Feb. 17, for President’s Day.
Immunization clinics are held every Wednesday from 8-11:30 a.m. and 1-4:30 p.m. and the second Wednesday of each month until 6 p.m. The Health Department is continuing to give flu vaccine on a walk-in basis. The cost is $20. Adults with no insurance can be vaccinated with Td or Tdap, Hep B and MMR. The cost is $10 through the Adult Safety Net.
Family Planning services are available through several funding sources. Services include pap smears, breast exams, pregnancy testing, methods of birth control and screening and testing for sexually transmitted diseases. For an appointment call 235-2869.
