The Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital sponsored a free cholesterol screening on Thursday, Feb. 17, at the Sweetwater-Nolan County Health Department, located at 301 E. 12th Street in Sweetwater.
Cholesterol can play a critical role in a person's health. It's important that all people know what their cholesterol level is and how it affects their risk of developing heart disease. People also need to learn about all the risk factors for heart disease.
Linda Kite, Public Health Promotions Coordinator/Lab IV of the Sweetwater Nolan County Health Department, noted, "They have an average of 90 show-ups for their cholesterol screening per visit. Their cholesterol screening takes approximately four to five minutes once seated in the chair.
They encourage people to come out to be screened when they have these events offered for free thanks to the courtesy of the Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital."
