Memorial services for Ruby Mildred Crawford, 94, of Sweetwater will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, with Pastor Dennis Bosley officiating. Her body will be cremated under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Crawford died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, at Nolan Nursing and Rehab.
She was born June 10, 1919 in Galitan, MO. She married Hoyt G. Crawford on June 6, 1938 in Alamogordo, N.M.
Ruby lived in El Paso from 1966 to 1984. She had worked in the library as a clerk for over 11 years at the University of Texas at El Paso. In 1984 she moved to Sweetwater and lived there until 1998 before moving to San Angelo and living there the past 15 years. She was a past member of the First Baptist Church in Sweetwater and later was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in San Angelo.
Survivors include her son, Warren Crawford and wife Shirley of Sweetwater; sister-in-law, Waldene Hillman of Michigan; grandchildren, Hollis Crawford and wife Karen of Del Rio, Karin Crawford of Questa, N.M., and John Crawford and wife Ginger of Hollywood, CA; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt Crawford, on May 7, 1971; parents, Warren E. and Laura Hillman; and brothers, Edwin Hillman and Floyd Hillman.
