Sweetwater tennis team starts 2012 fall season

Sweetwater High School’s tennis team won 18 of 19 matches against San Angelo Lake View’s junior varsity on Tuesday in its first 2012 fall matches.
Girls doubles — Kristen Casto and Jenny Medellin won 8-2; Gewel Cherry and Teresa Perez-Poe won 8-2; Kayla Sage and Vida Gamez won 8-3.
Boys doubles — Brian Vause and Stephen Shipp won 8-3; Isaiah Hernandez and Billy Reeves won 8-4; Michael Redondo and Key-gan Valdez won 8-5.
Mixed doubles — Mark Butler and Brianna Hicks lost 5-8.
Boys singles — Isaiah Hernandez won 6-0, 6-0; Brian Vause won 6-0, 6-1; Stephen Shipp won 6-0, 6-0; Michael Redondo won 6-1, 6-2; Keygan Valdez won 6-2, 6-1; Billy Reeves won 6-2, 6-1.
Girls singles — Jenny Medellin won 6-1, 6-1; Kris-ten Casto won 6-0, 6-0; Gewel Cherry won 6-1, 6-1; Teresa Perez-Poe won 6-0, 6-1; Kayla Sage won 6-1, 6-2; Vida Gamez won 6-3, 6-2.
