The Sweetwater Kiwanis Club met for their weekly meeting on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Bee's Décor.
The group heard a presentation from the resident director of the Hoyt House, Lindsey Sanders. Sanders spoke on the financial benefits available for veterans at the assisted living facility, along with the weekly activities, monthly community events and volunteer programs offered.
In addition to different room styles, Hoyt House also has various levels of care to meet each resident's needs. They have recently incorporated house visits as well in order to provide social opportunities and companionship to non-residents.
Sanders praised both the staff and residents of the Hoyt House, while expressing her desire to ensure the best care to anyone in need of assisted living. Club members took part in a Q&A session to learn more about the establishment, and most recently, the Kiwanis Club has seen a growth in membership.
The local chapter meets each Wednesday at noon at Bee's Décor.
