Holy Mass of Christian burial for Santiago Bugarin, Sr., 76, of Sweetwater, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2011, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Father Michael Rodriguez officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
A Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, march 25, 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories, recited by Pauline Gauna.
Bugarin died Thursday, March 24, 2011, in Abilene.
He was born July 25, 1934, in Marfa, Texas. He married Maria Hermosillo in 1955 in Colorado City, Texas. Santiago lived most of his life in Sweetwater. He was a fork lift operator at the Sweetwater Compress for 20 years. He was also a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Maria Bugarin of Sweetwater; daughters, Irma Beserra of Big Spring, Yolanda Vallejo of Stephenville, Silvia Garcia of Sweetwater, Mary Garcia of Big Spring, Yvonne Bugarin of Sweetwater, Raquel Leija of Sweetwater, Veronica Reschman of Sweetwater, Beatris Romero of Sweetwater and Christina Mendoza of Kansas City, Kansas; sons, Raul Bugarin, Pedro Bugarin, Lucas Bugarin and Stevan Bugarin; brothers, Tony Bugarin of Grand Prairie, Anastacio Bugarin of Jacksboro and Juan Bugarin of Grand Prairie; sister, Maria Rodriguez of Grand Prairie; 27 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Santiago Bugarin, Jr. on May 16, 1995, and Juan Bugarin in 1974; two brothers; and five sisters.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Bugarin, Bo Bugarin, Christian Ramon, Andy Bugarin, Chris Beserra and Joseph Bugarin.
