Funeral services for Sarah Frances Jones, 80, of Sweetwater, will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. Jerry Payne and Rev. Don Casper officiating. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010, at Taylor Cemetery near Lampasas. Interment will follow under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 15, 2010, at McCoy Funeral Home.
Jones died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
She was born Aug. 10, 1930, in Gilmer, Texas. She married Robert Eugene Jones on Aug. 15, 1947, in Burnet, Texas. Sarah moved to Sweetwater in 1998 from Round Rock. She had worked for the Round Rock ISD as the cafeteria manager for many years. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include daughters, Wilma Hinds of Abilene, Sarah Guelker and husband Steve of Sweetwater, Debbie White and husband Randy of Sweetwater and Susan Alexander and husband Terry of Sweetwater; sons, Robert Alvin Jones of Sweetwater, Dennis W. Jones and wife Jo Ann of Leander, John Paul Jones of Sweetwater, Jimmy Jones of Sweetwater, Charles Jones and wife Frances of Sweetwater and Wiley Williams and wife Loraine of Austin; two adopted granddaughters, Sarah Miley of Georgetown and Natasha Miley of Sweetwater; sister, Linnie Wilma Adams of Sweetwater; brothers, Charles W. Taylor and wife Margaret of Fort Worth and Don Taylor and wife Joyce of LBJ Lake, Texas; daughter-in-law, Rose Jones of Buchanan; 30 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband in August 1991; and a son, Joe Jones.
