Scharlos Jo Monks passed from this life April 4, 2013 at the age of 83 in a Sweetwater hospital. She was a long time resident of both Colorado City and Sweetwater.
Services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday April 6, 2013 at 4th and Elm Church of Christ with Michael Crowley and Jerry Turner officiating. Burial will follow in the Colorado City Cemetery.
Scharlos Jo was born May 13, 1929 in McCulloch County, TX, to OrieRay Turner and Bertha Mae Hickman Turner. Scharlos Jo first married Elbert Leroy (Roy) Nobles on March 19, 1946 in Snyder. He preceded her in death on May 23, 1979. After his death, she married Sylvanus (Syl) N. Monks on Nov. 23, 1983 in Lovington, N.M. He preceded her in death on March 14, 2004. She was a faithful, life-long member of the Church of Christ, with membership with the 22nd and Austin Streets Church of Christ in Colorado City and then the 4th and Elm Church of Christ in Sweetwater.
She is survived by one daughter, Beverly Kay Reyes of Midland; one grandson, Brandon and wife Debbie Rich of Midland; one brother, Jerry Turner of Granbury; and numerous nieces and nephews, other distant relatives and numerous friends.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. on Friday at Kiker-Seale Funeral Home in Colorado City.
