Icy roads in Nolan County

Many area schools have cancelled classes for Friday as roads began to ice over on Thursday, causing many wrecks in Nolan County and the surrounding areas.
School closings include Highland ISD, Blackwell CISD, Roscoe ISD and Sweetwater ISD. Roby CISD and Rotan ISD will begin classes at 10 a.m. but no buses will run.
Interstate 20 in Nolan County is extremely slick and hazardous. Any and all travel is highly discouraged.  "While state authorities have not closed the Interstate as yet, there are accidents occurring literally every few minutes," said Nolan County Sheriff David Warren. "Wreckers, ambulances and law enforcement resources are being taxed to their limits."
Motorists are asked to avoid travel completely. Street and road conditions are hazardous throughout Nolan County.
