SEED Presents at Regional Economic Development Meeting

The Texas Midwest Economic Development Alliance met in Anson on March 7, for their spring meeting. One of the purposes of the Alliance is to bring educational topics and information to Alliance members. Approximately 35 cities were in attendance.
A featured topic of the day was presented by Kirstin Smith and Ken Becker, with Sweetwater Enterprise for Economic Development (SEED) who explained the Speakers Bureau and Senior Interview Day conducted in Nolan County to prepare the future workforce.
Other topics offered on the agenda were a Site Locator’s Perspective by Mark Darce, Site Location Partnership; Work Ready Community Initiative explained by Garolyn Jergins, WCT Workforce Solutions; and an update on the new CEDS Website Tool given by Kristin Wright, West Central Texas Council of Governments.
The next meeting of the Economic Development Alliance is Aug. 8, in Brownwood.
