Approval was given toward the purchase of a new server during Monday morning's Nolan County commissioners' meeting, which will help begin the transition for a new financial software upgrade for the county auditor and treasurer.
The server will be purchased from Your Way Computer Tech Team at the cost of around $4,828. The software upgrade was first approved during a special-called meeting on September 3, and initial steps toward the transition could begin anytime after October 1.
The meeting also consisted of approving and issuing an order to exempt certain Sheriff's office vehicles from inscription requirements. Briefly presented by Nolan County Sheriff David Warren, the issue allows the sheriff's office to stay in compliance with regulations from the Texas Department of Transportation.
In addition, two budgets were acknowledged and received, one of which was the proposed budget from Sheriff Warren for the Nolan County Sheriff's drug forfeiture account for September 1, 2013 - September 30, 2014. The other item received was the 2013-2014 budget for the Nolan County Auditor's office and district court reporter from District Judge Glen Harrison.
Other reports received during the meeting were from the Nolan County Sheriff's Office, Veteran's Service Office, Tax Collector, Treasurer and Auditor. The minutes from the September 9 meeting were approved as well.
