Sweetwater Fire Chief Grant Madden and firefighters Ronnie Stegge and Bryan Buckley of the Sweetwater Fire Department traveled to Texas State Technical College in Sweetwater to visit with students in the nursing program. SFD brought along one of their rescue trucks to go over the various tools and equipment that are used in rescue situations.
"We're currently learning emergency care," said third semester nursing student Kristen Hall. "With the things Grant, Ronnie and Bryan have taught us we'll be better prepared to help at the scene of an accident if we ever drive up on one."
"We wanted the students to get an idea of how a situation can progress from accident to transport to hospital," said TSTC nursing instructor Katie Kinsey, LVN.
