SH 70 resurfacing project rescheduled

ABILENE, Texas – A project to resurface 6.4 miles of SH 70 in Nolan County south of Sweetwater has been postponed.
The work originally was scheduled to begin this week, but due to unforeseen circumstances, the contractor now anticipates a start date next week, said Mary Beth Kilgore, Abilene District public information officer.
TxDOT officials still expect the project to be finished by mid-fall, weather permitting.
Stephens-Martin Paving LP of Abilene will resurface and improve the portion of SH 70 from I-20 to almost two miles south of FM 1809.
