June 20, 2012

Arlington — Shirley Feagan Greer, 74, passed away peacefully with her family by her side and went home to her Lord and Savior on June 18, 2012. She was a loving wife of 55 years to Dell Greer, a mother of two boys, Nana to six grandchildren and a friend to many.
A funeral service to honor her life will be held on Friday, June 22, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church Arlington. The family will have visitation at Arlington Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2012.
Shirley was born in Muleshoe, TX to Raymond and Dolly Feagan on Oct. 6, 1937. She graduated from Sweetwater High School and moved to Arlington in 1961. She worked for the Arlington Independent School District and retired after 18 years of service. Her passion for giving back to the community was evident by her volunteer work with First Baptist Church of Arlington, Mission Arlington and Arlington Woman’s Club. She loved to entertain and show her appreciation to her family and friends by hosting parties, showers, receptions and holiday celebrations. She was very generous with her gift giving and always wrapped her gifts with her personal touch and handmade roses. Her passion for travel took her many places in the US, Alaska, Canada, Italy, France, Switzerland, Austria and across Europe. She was most proud of the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren making paper dolls, having tea parties and watching their sporting, dance and cheerleading events.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Dell Greer; son, Alan Greer and wife Lori and their four daughters, Lindsey Sandifer, Meredith, Alyssa and Brooklyn from Colleyville Texas; son, Russell Greer and wife Laura and their daughter Madelin and son Reese from Aledo, Texas; brothers Joe Feagan and wife Bonnie from Midland, TX; Jimmy Don Feagan and wife Sandra from Amarillo, TX; Sandra Feagan Hixon from Arlington, TX; and Carol Feagan and wife Stacy from Sweetwater, TX; her six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her memory be made to “Mission Arlington”, at www.missionarlington.org in Arlington, Texas.
