A graveside service for Shirley Irene Smith, 64, of Sweetwater, will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2011, at Cedar Gap Cemetery in Abilene with Rev. Lewis Smith officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Smith died Sunday, April 17, 2011, in Sweetwater.
She was born Dec. 13, 1946, in Abilene. She married Robert Smith on March 25, 1995, in Sweetwater. Shirley had lived in Sweetwater for the past 10 years and in Abilene before. She was a cook by trade and was a member of the New Life Tabernacle Church in Sweetwater.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Smith of Sweetwater; sisters, Sandra Johnson of Abilene, Maxine Couch of Little Rock, Ark. and Joyce Rhone of Lula; and a brother, Billy Farquhar of Clyde.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stewart and Maggie Farquhar; and her brother, Jimmy Farquhar.
