SHS varsity teams compete at Eastland track meet

Several Sweetwater High School track athletes competed Thursday at a meet that was held in Eastland.
The varsity boys got wins from both Kaleb Hoover in the 400-meter dash and Nick Nemir in the long jump.
Nemir was second in the 300 hurdles and third in the 110 hurdles; Hoover was second in the high jump; Isaiah McGee was second in the long jump; and Jay Lomas was third in the 100 dash.
The 400-meter relay consisting of McGee, Jonathan Browning, Kris Duran and Nemir was third, as was the 800 relay of Bobby Soto, McGee, Lomas and Duran.
The Sweetwater High School girls placed fifth and had 72 points at Eastland.
Kendra Crosson was first in the 200 (26.79) and she, Kelsi Crosson, Abby Garcia and Suede Shirley were on the first-place 800 relay (1:50.64). The 400 relay of Garcia, Kayla Chowning, Kelsi Crosson and Shirley was fourth (53.17) and the 1600 relay of Marissa San-chez, Shirley and both Cros-sons was also fourth with a time of 4:35. Kendra Cros-son was also fifth in the triple jump (31-7); Sanchez was fourth in the 300 hur-dles (51.75); Cierra Knox was fifth in the discus (92-5) and sixth in the shot (30-5); Mickenzie Brownlow was sixth in both the 100 (13.68) and the 400 (1:01.77); and Maddie Jones was sixth in the mile (2:35).
