SHS girls golf hosts Sweetwater Golf Classic this weekend

Sweetwater High School resumes its 2011 girls sea-son on Friday by hosting the Sweetwater Golf Classic, a 36-hole event that will run through Saturday at the Sweetwater Country Club.
Play begins both days at 9:30 a.m., with a shotgun start planned Saturday.
SHS will have three teams playing, with the No. 1 team consisting of seniors Jodie May, Katie High and Sarah Witt, junior Alex Gomez and sophomore Elise Lawrence. Other schools who are ex-pected to enter teams are Abilene Cooper, Jim Ned, Graham, Snyder, Abilene High, Wylie, Levelland, Lamesa and San Angelo Lake View, with Big Spring sending two medalists.
The SHS boys will also resume their season today at a one-day, 18-hole tour-nament in Brownwood.
