SHS girls at Texas Tech meet

Sweetwater High School was represented by 10 girls when it opened the 2014 track season at Texas Tech’s indoor meet in Lubbock this past weekend. Individual results follow:
Davina Walker was sixth out of 40 girls in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.72 seconds and 24th out of 113 girls in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.5;
Nisha Williams was 12th out of 40 girls in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.86 seconds and 20th out of 113 girls in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.17;
Abby Garcia was 29th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.9 and also high jumped 4-4;
Lauren Jones was 48th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 29.88 and also high jumped 4-4;
Danielle Vega was 60th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 30.29;
Marissa Sanchez was 43rd in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:08.83;
Mickenzie Brownlow was 37th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:08.40;
Cierra Knox was 13th out of 35 girls in the shot put with a throw of 29-3;
Morgan Browning was 36th in the mile with a time of 7:09.39;
And Kristi Ward was 40th in the mile with a time of 7:16.04.
The Sweetwater boys will join the girls on Friday to begin their 2014 season at Hamlin’s Longsleeve Relays, with the Roscoe boys and girls also competing.
