Sweetwater's sub-varsity basketball recap

Two Sweetwater High School sub-varsity basketball teams kept their unbeaten records intact this past weekend with road wins. Sweetwater’s JV girls are now 13-0 after winning 39-24 at Graham on Satur-day and the freshman boys are 5-0 after winning 37-28 at Bangs on Friday.
Shaneese Brown had 16 points to pace the JV girls, who also got eight from Maddie Jones, five by Cierra Knox, four by Nisha Williams and three by Jaya Atkins and Lexi Castillo. Michael Lawrence had 11 points to pace Sweetwater’s freshman boys while Mark Lawrence, Colton Jackson and J’Corey Amos each had six points, Denzell Moore four and Isaiah Gonzales and Hardy Escobar two points each.
The JV boys (0-6) were defeated by Bangs 56-34 Mike McCoy led Sweetwater with 10 while Michael Haz-ard and Joe Ruiz had five, Deshaun Williams and Mat-thew Trevino four and John Browning, D’Jaman West and Alontae Heath two. Also, the Sweetwater High freshman girls basketball team lost to Graham 31-20.
