SHS teams at Wylie Friday

A 15-1 win over Monahans Tuesday broke Sweetwater out of its recent tailspin and got the team back on track entering the final two games of the regular season. The Mustangs (4-4 district) may need to win one of those two games to reach the Class 3A playoffs for the second straight year. First, the Mustangs will play at first-place (7-1) Wylie begin-ning at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
Wylie, which has clinched a playoff spot, is coming off a 9-3 win over Snyder that dropped the Tigers into a tie for third with Sweetwater. Big Spring (6-2) is current-ly in second place and has also clinched a playoff spot, winning six straight since an 0-2 start.
The Sweetwater softball team ends its year by play-ing at Wylie at 4:30 p.m. Friday. The Lady Mustangs lost 8-0 to Monahans on Tuesday, keeping them win-less (0-9) in 4-3A. Wylie (5-4) — along with Snyder (9-0) and Greenwood (7-2) — has clinched a playoff berth entering the final game of season.
