SHS tennis team brings home many medals at Andrews’ two-day fall tourney

Isaiah Hernandez and Chris Hernandez teamed up to place first in boys doubles for Sweetwater in the top division at a recent tournament in Andrews.

Sweetwater High School’s varsity tennis team brought home a number of medals from Andrews’ fall tourna-ment held this past Friday and Saturday.
In boys singles, Chris Hernandez placed third in Flight One while Stephen Shipp took second-place honors in Flight 3 and Michael Redondo was third in Flight 4.
In boys doubles, Chris Hernandez and Isaiah Her-nandez brought home the overall first-place medal, while Shipp and Redondo took third-place honors in Flight 2 boys doubles at the two-day tournament.
In girls singles, Heidi Taylor won second place and teamed with Kristen Casto to win third-place honors in Flight 1 girls doubles.
Sweetwater’s next action will be this Thursday when the team plays host to San Angelo Lake View.
